Frozen Over Again

“The hot and the cold are both so intense, put em’ together, it just makes sense!“ –Olaf Frozen

Disney’s Frozen is nearing its one-year anniversary, and fans don’t have to let it go just yet.

“Fans of the hit show “Once Upon a Time” are ecstatic,” Sophomore Christopher Alvarez said.  The show, whose sole premise brings beloved fairy tale characters both new and old into one big melting pot that is the modern-day town aptly named “Storybrooke”, has just introduced characters from Disney’s Frozen into the wintery mix.

“One of the best things about the show is how it puts a new twist on the characters we’ve all grown up with and builds upon their story — adding an extra twist,” avid fan freshman Regina Swan said.

“Once” is entering its fourth season, previously bringing in characters from Beauty and the Beast, “Pinocchio,” Snow White, Peter Pan and even the Wizard of Oz.

Now, it’s time for the cast of Frozen to join in on the fun. The addition of which has spiked slight controversy, mostly due to the fact that Frozen is such a new addition to the Disney franchise, in contrast to the more iconic, older characters such as Snow White and Sleeping Beauty and it would possibly be “too soon,” Swan said.

“They have to strike while the iron is hot. It’s marketing 101,” Alvarez said.

The premier aired at 8 p.m on Sunday, Sept. 28 on CBS and the votes have blown in: “Frozen in Time” is a “huge success, and a fantastic way to kick off the fall season!”

“It all fits so perfectly together, especially the costumes—a cosplayer’s dream,” Swan said.

The cast list has been revealed. Elsa, the snow queen is played by Australian actress Georgina Haig, while Elizabeth Lail plays quirky, fun-loving Anna. Both actresses haven’t been seen in anything beyond the small screen.

“[The story and characters] will be in good hands,” executive producer Adam Horowitz said, in an interview with TMZ.

Whether you are a die-hard fan or have only just heard of the show, Once Upon a Time is a “chilling fall drama, perfect for any Disney fan,” Alvarez said.
