Blue Valley’s New Students Speak

New students discuss the Blue Valley experience

Blue Valley has become a new home school to several students. Just in the beginning of the 2015-16 school year, the school has received 63 new students from all over the state, the country and the world.

Junior Becca King, a transfer from Liberal, Kansas, said that nobody was outwardly mean to her coming to BV.

“I had a couple people who would talk behind my back like ‘oh the new girl doesn’t know anything’ . . . I feel like I’ve never had to try to make friends before, because I lived in the same place before so I always had friends ” King said.

King said her experience was a good one, but she definitely misses her old school. She says her old school had more diversity, but BV has a better academic mindset.

Junior Elizabeth Toles, a transfer from Rosemount, Minnesota, agrees with King’s statement about a highly academic environment at BV.

“[BV] is really academic, and I think that improves the school experience,” Toles said.

“School was tough to adjust to because I was an incoming freshman.”

Overall, both interviewed said BV was a positive experience in their lives.

They agree they had a good experience coming here and that although they miss some things of their old school their new one is exceptional.

“I’m glad I moved. It’s made me a better person.” Toles said. toles_infographic
