Welcome to our blog! Meg and I, Courtney, as co-editors for “The Tiger Print” online and print publications, decided to express our weekly thoughts here. Some things to know:

  1. Our staff covers various topics around BV, racing to publish our best work about our views, school and our peers. Here is a chance to read with an inside look into BV journalism, unedited.
  2. This will mostly be composed of our week-to-week breakdown of newspaper — the high and low moments and everything in between.
  3. We will upload our blog every Thursday night.
  4. We love your feedback.
  5. Meg and I were staff members for two years before becoming editors — we love our staff and our school and are passionate about creating a new culture for journalism in years to come.

Enjoy our letters, to you.

Courtney’s Thoughts:

In the midst of finals week, we all know from experience how strung out we can be. Thankfully, due to AP and senior classes, I am only required to take a couple finals this week. Because of this, I’ve been able to take a step back and somewhat relax in the traditional classroom side of things more than in past years. I am shifting to devoting most of my attention to the new year with “The Tiger Print.” Meg and I are working very hard for our upcoming summer August issue. We (with the help of our wonderful adviser Mrs. Huss) completely revamped the website, added a new Instagram and updated our Twitter. Tiger Print fans, get excited for some pretty neat new online coverage coming your way. But, don’t underestimate our print issues. With a slightly larger staff this next year, we’re pushing the envelope to cover more people, expand on more ideas, improve our design quality and get our readers involved through social media on an online basis. We are so extremely excited, and cannot wait to share with you a new face of The Tiger Print. Use this as an excuse to put down the study guide and exit out of Roger Hub’s final grade calculator — we know you’re studying hard.

For those of you taking all or some of your finals this week, here is my challenge to you. Take this week seriously, of course, just like the rest of us. Study hard for the finals ahead of you, and let summer be your reward. More importantly, find something you are passionate about this week, and use that to motivate you even further. Passion brings out champion results. We hope you recognize our passion through our upcoming publications. Study hard, relax, and good luck.

“Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”
