Located near Overland Pointe Marketplace, the recently opened Logan’s Roadhouse offers a casual dining experience with moderate prices and something for everyone.
I arrived before the Friday night dinner rush. Though fairly empty upon arrival, it filled up very quickly. There was an ample waiting area with peanuts to eat while waiting and even a bucket of peanuts at our table, so we could eat them while we waited for our meal.
The staff was extremely friendly. The manager came over and chatted with us while we waited for the late member of our group.
Our waiter started off by bringing us a basket with warm, homemade buns and butter. Compared to Texas Roadhouse’s sweet buns and cinnamon butter, they were just OK.
For an appetizer, we ordered the “Free to Pick Three,” which cost $9.49. We picked the Loaded Potato Skins, Rockin’ Onion Petals and Buffalo Hot Wings as our three appetizers in this special. The potato skins were great, and the other items were average. The three sauces that came with the appetizer tasted pretty good with the items we chose.
The menu was varied and offered lunch and dinner options suited for everyone — even an extensive health-nut section.
For my meal, I ordered the $8.29 “Roadies,” which are sliders that come with homemade potato chips. There was a lot of food for the price, and not bad at all. My only criticism would be I thought it tasted a bit over-seasoned.
One member of my group ordered the Country Fried Chicken Tenders Dinner with two sides — french fries and macaroni and cheese.
She found the meal better than other restaurants where she had eaten something similar.
The other two members in my group got a six-ounce filet mignon and porterhouse steak, priced $15.99 and $23.99 respectively. They both said they preferred other steakhouses, but they did enjoy their meal.
By the time the meal was over, we were all completely full. Although the Mini-Buckets desserts looked absolutely heavenly, we had no room to eat anything else.
Overall, Logan’s Roadhouse is a great place for a casual meal.
