“Not really — I just believe it keeps me on the path I should be.”

“Yes, I wear it wherever I go every day.”

“I find it kind of lucky, but I’ve never had it bring a ton of luck. It just helps me with little things.”

“A bracelet from my cross country big sister, a bracelet from my best friend and a purple panda with pink sparkly wings.”
Why did you choose it?
“It’s because the people that gave me these items are very special to me, so I like wearing and having [the items] as a memory of them everywhere I go.”
Does your lucky item have a story or memory attached to it?
“With the Panda, I used to play with those little figurines with my siblings, and then my cross country big sister gave me a bracelet for one of our meets. I just love cross country, that season and my big sister, so I wear it all the time.”

“I keep the panda in my backpack and wear my bracelets every day.”

“I think it does — every time I think about it, everything really goes right.”

“It is a small, little metal cross.”
Why did you choose it?
“I was given it at a fair.”
Does your lucky item have a story or memory attached to it?
“I was at a fair in Bonner Springs with my friends, and as we were walking in, we got stopped by a group of religiously affiliated people. They told our group we needed Jesus. I really took that to heart, so I kept the cross.”
Do you carry it around with you?”
“It sits in my glove box in my car.”
Do you think your item really brings you luck?
“At the time, I hadn’t gotten any speeding tickets — it was lucky for a solid two and a half years. I hadn’t gotten in any trouble with law enforcement, no car crashes, no one has hit me, no door dings or anything.”
