Among Blue Valley’s many students who love fall activities, senior Sarah Baker enjoys baking and cooking during the season. Spending time outside during the fall is also important to her.
“I look forward to walking outside after school and seeing the seasons changing, especially the morning air,” she said.
Autumn is her absolute favorite season, and she was born in October. Baker likes visiting cider mills with her friends and eating pumpkin bread as her comfort food.
“You can have it as breakfast or dessert,” she said. “I love pumpkin flavor in general.”
Coincidentally, senior Taylor Freeman was also born in October, and she talked about how she enjoys fall activities, such as visiting the pumpkin patch and watching scary movies with her friends.
By mid-October, Freeman likes to get her Halloween nails done, and as the time goes by and the leaves touch the ground, Freeman is already in her favorite cafe ordering her treasured fall beverages.
“I would get an iced chai latte or boba that is brown sugar [or a] pumpkin spice latte,” she said.
Junior Hope Ames enjoys going to the apple cider mill with her family.
A fun tradition Ames has is that she and her family often shop for candy. Like Baker, Ames also loves pumpkin bread during fall.
She prefers a vanilla and warm scent that reminds her of the fall weather to come.
“I get fall nails as soon as September hits,” she said. “September marks the start of fall, and no one can tell me otherwise.”
Parker Knoche is a junior and loves playing football and hanging out with his friends every Friday night.
Although he does not have a favorite fall drink, he likes Dr. Pepper. With the thoughts of fall coming, Knoche likes seeing the changing tree colors and the sunset in the background of football games.
His ideal meal during harvest time is anything Thanksgiving-related like turkey, ham or sweet potato. On fall Fridays, Knoche spends time with friends.
“We watch college football,” he said. “We just hang out [at] barbecues [and] cookouts.”
