What class assigns the most busy work?

“Applied Psychology.”

Why are the assignments for that class busy work to you?

“During that class, there’s only two lectures and the rest [the teacher] just said, ‘Watch this video, do this work and then submit at the end of the hour’ — for 30 points.”

Does your busy work interfere with other activities?

“I have to take 40 minutes out of my regular day to do this homework.”

Do you have replacement suggestions?

“I’d rather have the actual information taught face-to-face because that’s what I come here for.”

“It’s a lot of work that all takes time, and the resources she gives us have a lot of information that we don’t fully need to read. We take time doing random stuff.”

Does your busy work interfere with other activities?

“It just takes a lot of time. That’s my main reason for putting it as busy.”

Do you have replacement suggestions?

“For this class specifically, I think we need to stop veering off into other conversations when we have a lecture. We shouldn’t get rid of all busy work if it’s applicable to other topics that might be useful later, but really niche and really specific topics I don’t think we need to know.”

“A lot of what we do [is] time consuming: the chapters, the notes and a lot of the group projects. They’re helpful because I learn a lot, but it takes up my time.”

Does your busy work interfere with other activities?

“Everything is time consuming, but I’m still able to get everything done.”

Do you have replacement suggestions?

“Since in classes like these there’s always going to be a lot of work, I would plan out what you’re going to do. Right now, I know I have notes due next week, so I’m doing them in advance.”
