How long have you been swimming?
“For school, I’ve been doing it for one year, and I did it competitively for nine.”
What are you looking forward to this season?
“We’re going to make swim caps, and we’re putting Bien’s face on it. We’re going to wear it to one of our meets.”
What are your goals this season?
“My goal is to be the coolest, and I’m going to accomplish that.
I already have because I bought everyone donuts.”
How do you contribute to the team and its success?
“To be honest, I really don’t. I’m definitely a floater. I am not competitive in the slightest, and I’m just doing it for exercise.”
Luke Gonzalez, 11
How long have you been golfing?

“I’ve been playing golf for six years competitively, and I’ve been on the [BV] team all three years.”
What are you looking forward to this season?
“We have a lot of returning players this year. We didn’t lose any seniors last year, so just growing as a team and just gettingbetter.”
What are your goals this season?
“Our goal is to win State as a team. I think accomplishing that is staying patient throughout the season and knowing there’s going to be obstacles. Some tournaments are going to go better than others, but stay patient, focusing on our end goal.”
How do you contribute to the team and its success?
“I contribute personally just being able to play my best and keeping a positive attitude. Being able to uplift your teammates when they’re playing bad is important.”
Ellie Reinert, 12
How long have you been playing softball?
“I’ve been doing it since kindergarten. I play competitively for Rebels, and I’ve been doing that since I was 12 [and] since
freshman year [for school].”
What are you looking forward to this season?
“It’s my last season, so I’m excited. It’s going to be a good last season.”
What are your goals this season?
“We have the potential to go to State — maybe win it. I’m trying to be the best leader I can, just making everyone around me better.”
How do you contribute to the team and its success?
“I’m a team captain along with two other girls, so people look up to me for my leadership and my energy.”
Ishan Amoula, 11
How long have you been playing tennis?
“I’ve been playing since middle school and for three years in high school. I’ve done a couple of tournaments in the summer but nothing too competitive.”
What are you looking forward to this season?
“Playing with the boys and competing, going to different schools and seeing how I match up against the rest of the district.”
What are your goals this season?
“I’m going to try and win most of my games, and then I want to try and do good, maybe qualify for State. Just hard work, not skipping practice, strategizing and being a better player.”
How do you contribute to the team and its success?
“Just gotta win.”
Kinley Krumholtz, 10
How long have you been playing soccer?
“Probably eight years competitively, and for the school, it’s my second year.”
What are you looking forward to this season?
“Making bonds again and having fun with all my friends.”
What are your goals this season?
“My goal is to start on varsity. I’ll accomplish this by practicing.”
How do you contribute to the team and its success?
“[By] having a leadership role because there’s not very many upperclassmen, so lifting people up, especially the freshmen that are new.”
Skyler Bernbeck, 11
How long have you been playing baseball?
“[I’ve done] it competitively with Building Champions almost all my life, ever since [I was] 6.”
What are you looking forward to this season?
“I’m looking forward to seeing all the new people fill into their spots, use their opportunities and win a State title.”
What are your goals this season?
“Definitely the State title — everyone needs to be dedicated and want it more than everybody else.”
How do you contribute to the team and its success?
“I’d say my attitude, like effort and obviously playing good would help.”
Jax Burns, 12
How long have you been doing track and field?
“All through high school, I’ve been on varsity. I did it competitively when I was a sophomore and freshman, but I stopped doing competitive once I was a junior.”
What are you looking forward to this season?
“Honestly, the connections I have, my friends, practicing and working toward something that I can do.”
What are your goals this season?
“Might be a little big, but maybe State or placing at Regionals, progressing and getting better at what I do. We have a new coach, so I’m excited to see what new drills we’ll have.”
How do you contribute to the team and its success?
“I try to be a leader, especially for the younger guys. I try to lead by example and teamwork. Those are two main things: teamwork and trying to lead by example.”
