A Good Change

Junior Transfers to BV after moving from Missouri

After a great semester of the 2018-19 school year, junior Claire Samuel reflects on her time so far.

“I moved to Leawood after my Dad’s job was transferred here,” Samuel said. “I used to live in St. Louis.”

Samuel said the transition was smooth and easy because of all of the caring friends she met early on.

“Before I came, I definitely was feeling a little bit nervous about the change, but after my first day I knew it would be a good fit for me,” Samuel said.

She said it didn’t take her long to notice the difference between BV and other schools around.

“I really enjoy the family aspect of Blue Valley and there’s always something going on that makes it super fun,” Samuel said.

Samuel tried out for the Girl’s Tennis team this fall and looks forward to trying out for the soccer team this spring.

“I’m excited to play soccer here and get to know more people through it,” Samuel said. “I’ve been playing since I was 5 so I’m very passionate about it”.

Samuel said overall she is thankful for all of the people who have helped her get accustomed to Blue Valley and is excited for the rest of her time here.

“There’s a lot of great schools in Kansas City, but I’m grateful that I ended up here,” Samuel said.
