Humans of BV: Harper Clark
Harper Clark is a senior this year at BVHS and has been attending Kanakuk Kamp for 6 years now.
“Kamp has always been a big part of my life and it holds a really special place in my heart,” Clark said. “I was a counselor and training this year and [it] was honestly life changing for me.”
Clark has always had a love for God but this summer he taught her a new lesson – humility.
“I was really humbled because [by] being able to serve others, I truly came to the realization that this life isn’t about me; it’s about serving others and doing everything in God’s name,” Clark said.
As she continues to grow in her faith she lives by Hebrews 12:1 – “Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” This quote has given Clark a new meaning in her life.
“The part of this verse that talks about running the race God has put before us is something I try my best to live by everyday,” Clark said. “Choosing to love and serve others and walking in obedience to the Father is so freeing. That’s the race that I am running and it’s all for Jesus and His glory not mine.”
