In late March, a group of boys decided to split into two teams and start a draft of the best months. At the end of the draft, Team One had, in order of their picks, December as their first pick, then October, May, June, February, and November as their last pick. Team Two had July as their first pick, then March, September, January, April, and August as their last pick. They then set out to get passing students to stop by and vote which team had the greater draft.
Discussions and arguments erupted throughout the voting process. Students arguing one side is better than the other. Such arguments erupted over the month with the most events, hot versus cold months, birthday months, which holiday month is the best, etc.
Watching over it all, I noticed that September held the most birthdays, Team Two held the most preferred holidays, Team Two held the warmest months, which seemed to be preferred by most, Team Two held the coolest events, such as the Fourth of July, and Team One held the most influential month, Black History Month.
As students passed by, the two teams fought and argued to get the students to vote for their drafted months. By the end of the passing period, Team One had won by majority of votes.
At the end of it all, I felt that this debate needed more time to be discussed.
What is your opinion on the best months? Which team would you vote for?
