High school is full of many fun traditions, especially here at BV. The homecoming dance is one of those experiences where students have the opportunity to make fun memories with friends that last a lifetime.
This year, Freshman Madison Wang attended her first homecoming dance. Her experience involved dinner with friends and pictures before the dance, as well as a sleepover after the dance.
“[First], we met up at Sanjay’s house, and took some pictures in his backyard,” Wang said. “Then we met the rest of the people at Ironwoods and took pictures there. We [ate at] Nicklaus Country Club and also took pictures there.”
Wang and most of her group are involved in student council, so they got to the dance early to help set up and stayed for the entirety of the dance.
“It was actually really fun. Dancing was super fun at the gym, [but] it was super hot,” Wang said.
Although Wang’s first homecoming experience was certainly enjoyable, she would change some of her plans if she did it again.
“[Next time I’d] have a smaller group, because I didn’t even talk to everybody in my group,” she said.
Making plans for the dance can be stressful, but Wang didn’t let that overcome her overall excitement or spoil the fun she had at the dance.
“Honestly, the planning of it wasn’t really great because there’s a lot of people in our group,” Wang said. “It was like 18-20. So that was really crazy, [but] I was excited.”
