The marching band festival planned for Sept. 25 has been canceled.

Because fewer bands entered the competition than in previous years, less money was donated to the event by sponsors.

The cost of a custodial staff and maintenance on a Saturday was also a factor in deciding to cut the band festival.

Band teacher Avian Bear assured that no additional band performances will be affected by these budget cuts.

“It was just too big of a financial bite for the district right now.” Bear said.
