The BV National Merit Semifinalists this year are: Sarah Bergeson, Matt Hamblin, Gautham Prakash, Holden Rolfs, and Allen Xu.
They represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.
In early September, about 16,000 students of the 50,000 high scorers, are notified that they have qualified as Semifinalists.
They are the highest scoring students in each state.
The Commended Students in 2011 are: Raven Brower, Luke Dickerson, Montana Grier, Ryan O’Toole, Emily Provost, William Retz, Nicholas Snow and Ethan Wolfe.
About 34,000 of the approximately 50,000 high scorers on the PSAT receive Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise.
