Students seeking an opportunity for community service can go to mobile 7 on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. to prepare snack packs for Ronald McDonald House guests.
The snack packs will include foods such as crackers, cookies, granola bars, fruit snacks, pretzels and chips. Students who participate in putting together the snack packs may bring extra food for more community service hours.
Community Service Organization sponsor Kristin Asquith said the snack packs, which take less than a minute to make, will be offered to family members of hospital patients.
According to its website, the Ronald McDonald House offers families a place to stay while their children are in the hospital, allowing them to stay close together while away from home.
“I’ve known families who have benefited from Ronald McDonald House,” Asquith said. “They just do really cool things. It’s a good support system for families in crisis.”
