The band brought home eight awards from the Winter Park Ski Music Festival in Colorado this past weekend.
The concert, symphonic and jazz bands all earned superior ratings in competition.
The concert band went on to be named runner-up in their division and the jazz and symphonic bands took first.
The jazz and symphonic bands were each named grand champions in their categories.
Matt Cooper, first chair trombone player and drum major for the 2011-2012 school year, said all bands had excellent performances, and each went to see the others perform.
He said the band hopes to build on this talent next year to further advance their skills.
“We’re always on the path to improvement,” he said. “Next year we plan on improving on the foundation we’ve set this year.
The jazz band will perform in the library during all lunches on Thursday, April 13 to celebrate jazz appreciation month.
