Blue Valley played Salina South on Saturday, Nov. 30 for the 5A State Championship title. BV ended the game 27-26, receiving the State title. Quarterback senior Logan Brettell said winning State is a dream come true.
“It is the absolute greatest feeling in the world,” he said. “It is a truly fulfilling feeling to have all the hard work pay off in the end. [The game] didn’t go exactly how we wanted to, obviously. We got up early and eventually didn’t capitalize on some critical opportunities and let [Salina South] back in the game. But the defense stepped up, the offensive line did amazing as usual and we got the job done as a family.”
