More and more movies are popping up in theatres and more than just new, original ones are getting talk.
Sequels like “Finding Dory” and “Dolphin Tale 2” are a popular trend among moviemakers.
“Oh my god, I’m so excited! But I think the originals are always going to be the best,” freshman Anisha Kodwani said.
People like Candy Hawks, a parent of a freshman, are apprehensive about sequels living up to their initial standards.
“[The sequels] never seem to be as good as the first one,” Hawks said, “But I am anxious to see the new ‘Dolphin Tale 2’ and ‘Finding Dory’. So we’ll just have to see if those are just as good,”
Remakes like “Forrest Gump” are being created from old movies.
“I think it’s a waste of time, actually,” Hawks said.
Others plan on attending a showing of the movie.
“I will probably see the new ‘Forrest Gump’,” said Larry Hawks, a parent of a freshman.
Variations of anticipated new movies differ from person to person.
“‘The Maze Runner’ — I’m really excited for that to come out,” Kodwani said, “It just sounds really good and interesting and unique and different.”
Similar to the “Maze Runner” in its action aspect, “Guardians of the Galaxy” is highly anticipated.
“I actually want to see ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’,” Candy said. “They actually say the previews have been great. It’s number one in the box office for weeks now, and they say the story is good and the acting is good.”
In addition to action movies, comedies are also a genre people like Larry are excited about.
“I don’t know it’s going to be the best movies,” Larry said, “but I think it’s ‘Expendables 3’,which just came out. The first two were pretty funny.”
After the theatre production, you can always buy your favorite movie on DVD.
“I might buy ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’,” Larry said, “It was fun to watch and had some funny lines in it. Seems like most of the movies I buy, if my daughters like it and will watch it again, I’ll buy it.”
