Everybody has heard of global warming and its major effects, but nobody realizes it is happening now, and it’s happening fast. This September was the second warmest September on record for the globe in a 175-year record, additionally, if you have noticed the amount of snow a year is increasingly declining (NOAAGlobalTemp). In other places as well like in the polar regions, many species are going extinct and starving because of the way humans are living. You may not even notice it but droughts and fires are happening because of global warming. As greenhouse gas emissions blanket the Earth, they trap the sun’s heat, which leads to global warming and climate change. Global warming is happening quickly and you can constantly see the effects, we need to do something fast before the clock expires. There are little things you can do to take these steps and make even the smallest changes because now everything counts! From the way we travel to the electricity we use and the food we eat, we can make a difference. Start with using less energy by lowering your heating and cooling, switching to LED light bulbs, and washing your laundry with cold water. These things may seem small and irrelevant but one person taking one step will help and possibly encourage others to do the same. Global warming is real, and today is the day to start because if we don’t start next summer will never end.
