In an email at 7:45 a.m., principal Charles Golden reported a vehicular “hit & run” on world history teacher Molly Cowan’s classroom at “approximately 7:00” this morning.
The crash does not appear to have created a visible hole, but the damage is apparent, with crumbled bricks on the sidewalk.
While an investigation has been opened by the OPPD and BVSD, not much information has been released to the public as of now.
Cowan is relocating to different locations around the school today.
“I’m in Dolezal’s second hour, Pickert’s tiger time and Sundquist’s sixth,” she said.
Cowan wasn’t in her classroom when the collision occurred this morning.
“It had just happened,” she said. “I was like, ‘What?’”
When Cowan arrived, assistant principal Mollie McNally, Golden and US history teacher Angela Sullivan were walking toward the scene.
“I went to the office and got an administrator,” Sullivan said. “Dr. Golden and Mrs. McNally were very calm.”
Sullivan felt the impact in her room.
“It was very early and very quiet,” she said. “I looked out the window and then got help.”
If you have any information regarding this situation, Golden requests students contact him through the number in this morning’s email.
