Party Foul
Graduation parties make no sense
Okay, hear me out. There is literally no point to having a grad party.
For starters, everyone and their moms seem to be having them on the same day at the same time, including myself. The Saturday before graduation from four to six.
Additionally, the entire concept of grad parties makes no sense to me. Everyone is graduating, so why have a specific celebration for yourself?
However, my biggest gripe about grad parties is that everyone seems to have a huge schedule of whose party they’re going to, how much time they can spend at each one to leave enough time to attend another, and how it seems to be the only thing that anyone talks about anymore.
I hate to be that person, but if you hand me a grad party invite and we don’t talk on a day to day basis, chances are, I’m not going to be in attendance.
Why can’t celebrating your graduation just be a family thing?
I shouldn’t feel pressured to invite Brooklyn from my freshman year third hour underwater basket weaving class to my graduation celebration.
I might be alone in this feeling, but I really just don’t get the hype surrounding grad parties.
