Sleeping Instead of Studying
Students shouldn’t have to do work when sick
I’ve been sick the last couple of days and I think it is completely unfair to have to do school work. I could barely get out of bed and I was exhausted from all of the medication I was taking, but somehow I was supposed to be writing my senior speech for ELA and doing a million assignments for my government class.
I understand that schoolwork is important and everything is online but doing things you already don’t want to do when you are sick is 10 times harder. My advice if you are sick is to stay home and rest so you can go back to school healthier and happier.
There is no point in making your physical and mental health worse just for a couple of assignments. Maybe this is just my senioritis kicking in but I fully believe in a good sick day.
If you are unlike me and you feel responsible for your missing work then it is good to use the energy you have to complete one assignment at a time and then take a break.
School is important but so is your body so make sure you are getting the rest and fuel you need to keep yourself strong so you don’t miss any more school.
Lucky for me, I get my tonsils out after spring break and get to miss two more weeks of school. Wish me luck.
