Why even wear them? They don’t match anything, the designs are crazy, some may even say they’re ugly. I can’t explain it, but all those reasons are why we wear them. They’re also, of course, functional for running with their breathable cut and stretchy waistband. You’re probably thinking, “what is this girl talking about?”. That’s because you’re not a distance kid. They’re all over runner Instagram and if an influencer doesn’t own a pair, they will. 

So, which ChicknLegs are the BEST? There is a spandex version and different inseams, but I’m solely going to focus on the various designs.

5. Skulls

The skulls and bones are a good representation of running because most of the time runners feel like they’re dying. These shorts are best for repeat workouts because one often feels deceased by the end of them. The shorts are also a good wear near the end of the season in October, because Halloween is coming up! Outside of fall, though, they might not be a great pick. 

4. Turtles

These are a top pick because the turtles are ADORABLE. Turtles are slow, of course, so I recommend wearing these shorts for base runs. The colors are also pretty and would be easier to match than some of the other shorts.

3. Strawberries

Who doesn’t love strawberries? They’re cutesy and delicious. However, the light pink color of the background may not match all skin tones. Nonetheless, I like that the strawberries look semi-realistic in contrast to the cartoony designs of the other shorts. These might cause hunger on longer runs so I recommend them for short runs.

2. Lucky Charms

Lucky Charms are objectively the best cereal. Maybe I just like food, but the marshmallow designs are fun and colorful without being too gaudy. I also love the Irish twist, so I recommend redheads get these for the Run of the Gingers on St. Patrick’s Day.

1. Flamingos

These are the ChicknLegs that the BV cross country girls team has and they’re iconic. The combination of big and little flamingos is unique from other designs and adds dimension. They’re perfect for summer runs and they make the hot weather tolerable. These shorts are in first place because BVXC is number one.
