Similar to many classes, AVID has numerous guest speakers that talk to students about college opportunities and financial aid, but in this case AVID students were visited by two postal police officers, Justin Lewis and Tom Noyes. Their job is to look at incoming mail and make sure that it was not a threat to United States security, such as a bomb or poison. The officers informed the students about federal job opportunities and the many fields in which you could enter. The students were shown x-rays and equipment used by the postal service on a regular basis.
