The girls tennis team started out their season with a 5-4 win over St. Thomas Aquinas on BV’s home courts.

Seniors Ashley Tiefel, Audrey Coventry, sophomore Jessie Alexander and freshman Shivani Patel all won their matches against Aquinas.

Highlights from the game included Alexander’s comeback from a 3-6 loss in order to take the win.

The girls tennis team will take on Blue Valley Southwest next Thursday at 4 p.m.

“The girls on the team demonstrate excellent spirit as they cheer each other on during practice and matches,” manager Allen Zhu said. “The players look pretty vigorous this year. There’s no doubt that both varsity and JV players will handle this season with mostly victories and great spirit.”
