The cross country team ran its annual intersquad race earlier, with girls starting their run at 5 p.m. and boys at 5:30 p.m. Only BVHS runners compete in the race to determine who will start the season on varsity.
The girls varsity team consists of: juniors Evelyn Davis, Mackenzie Gorthy, Becca McDonald, Jen Kranjec, Bailey Swimmer and Miranda Loats and sophomore Sophie Best.
The boys varsity team consists of: seniors Ben Gaede, Danny Willis and Skyler Trieu, juniors Brian Witt and Ben Strickland and sophomores Grant Poje and Collin Mardis.
The team’s next meet is the Blue Valley Tri at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2 at Stanley Nature Park.
