The varsity volleyball team lost to St. Thomas Aquinas 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Tigers lost a lopsided first game 25-12, in a contest marred by mental errors.
They then pulled away at the end of a close match to win 25-19.
Aquinas then showed superior teamwork and sealed the Tigers fate, handing them 25-13 and 25-19 losses.
“[Our biggest problem is] our lack of adjusting to our opponent’s offense,” coach Jessica Palmer said. “We obviously walked on the court with timid behavior and were not as aggressive as I would have liked.”
Looking forward, Palmer said this game showed her who to rely on.
“I think it showed tonight who our most consistent players were,” she said. “They were not phased at all. We need to focus on our consistency, our mental toughness and middle offense. We have to play like we have nothing to lose.”
