Blue Valley won Friday night’s football game against Blue Valley Northwest with a score of 52 – 21. BV advanced to a 6-0 record with a very balanced offensive onslaught: three touchdowns on the ground and three through the air from junior quarterback Kyle Zimmerman, each to a different target.
After a field goal by junior Austin Johnson, first senior Hayden Murray carried the ball for a touchdown to give BV a 10 – 0 lead. BV scored again in the second quarter on a touchdown run by junior Justin Fulks, his tenth of the season.
The Huskies answered with their first score of the night on touchdown run by junior quarterback Garrette Fugate.
The Tigers scored this time on Zimmerman’s first touchdown pass of the night to senior Jacob Mcdermott. BV’s defense then came through with an interception returned for a touchdown by senior T.J. Nee putting the Tigers up 31 – 7 heading into halftime.
Fulks scored on a 50-yard reception out of the backfield to begin the second half. Zimmerman then completed his third touchdown pass of the night to senior Paul Debey.
BV scored once more in the fourth quarter on a touchdown run by junior Matt Floyd extending their lead to 52 – 7.
BVNW pulled out two touchdowns late in the fourth quarter to make the final score 52 – 21.
