The wrestling team competed at the EKL tournament this past weekend, Feb. 12. The Tigers took sixth place overall out of eight teams in the EKL.
Seniors Caleb Fehr, Jon Hayward and Tyler Hendrickson were EKL Runners-up in the 285, 145 and 171-pound weight classes, respectively.
Other BV wrestlers who placed were senior Ross Riley (fourth place in the 160-pound weight class), juniors Trever Hendrickson (fourth place in the 140-pound weight class) and Kellen Rios (third place in the 125-pound weight class) and sophomore Jacob Sims (third place in the 112-pound weight class).
The Tiger wrestlers will compete in the Regional tournament this weekend, Feb. 20.
“Based on their performance at EKL, I think Tyler, Caleb, John, and Ross all legitimately have a chance at being in the finals at Regionals, if not winning,” wrestling coach Jason Peres said. “They’ve really set themselves up well for State.”
