The BV boys golf team took second in the 5A state golf championship with 296 points. Graudates Dakota Clark, Michael Kreamer, and Greg Graves, and juniors Whit Buckler, Austin Johnson, and Rick McCaw played on the state team.
Johnson finished seventh for individuals, Clark finished eighth, Kreamer and McCaw tied for thirteenth, and Graves tied for seventeenth.
Johnson said out of his three years on varsity, this has been the best year for the team.
“We have a lot of chemistry,” he said. “Personally I have known the three seniors since my freshman year and two of my friends made up the other part of the team.”
Though he said he felt pleased Johnson said he did not feel completely happy with his overall performance.
“I should have shot better,” he said. “I was three under and I blew up on the backside.”
