The Tiger football team took the initiative early against the Saints of Saint Thomas Aquinas.
With 8:17 left in the first quarter, senior Kyle Zimmerman threw a touchdown pass to senior Sean Skaggs, making the score 7-0.
With about 4 minutes left in the first quarter senior Matt Floyd ran the ball in the 1-yard-line. Less than a minute later, Floyd ran it in for a touchdown, building the Tigers’ lead to 14-0.
No more scoring occurred in the rest of the first half, which ended with BV blocking Aquinas’ last minute field goal attempt.
With little scoring action for much of the game, students found great entertainment in Aquinas’ halftime performance with feature twirler Savannah Miller, who juggled batons and sticks of fire.
Despite many close scoring opportunities, neither the Tigers nor the Saints could convert in the second half. BV pulled out this 14-0 win, continuing their undefeated streak.
BV will hit the field for the “Pink Out” game next Friday, Oct. 21 against the Purple Pirates of Pittsburg High School.
