Saturday Sept. 29, the BV Girls’ Tennis team placed second at Eastern Kansas League (EKL) with 58 points.
Morgan Steffes, Alexa Tiefel and Adrienne Bieker scored 18, 14 and four points respectively in singles matches.
Doubles teams Shivani Patel and Jenny Moon, Jessie Alexander and Mandy Novicoff and Madison Kraemer and Vy Ngyuen, scored seven, 11 and four points each.
EKL is a bracket-style tournament with eight teams, with three doubles teams and three singles players on each team.

“I hope we all play to our potential, stay positive and fight until the end,” she said.
The team now has a dual record of 7-2 and has won three tournaments. Upcoming events are the regional and state competitions.
