Tiger Football- First Two Weeks

Seniors have high expectations for the season

Senior football players, Cameron Green and Shane Bergeman are looking forward to their final season after playing for BV for the past three years. Although this is their fourth season as tigers, they said that this year is going to be something special— and not just because it’s their senior year.

The boys said that starting off the season with a tough loss to Aquinas only fueled the team to work harder at practice.

“Last year, we had a strong team but lacked the communication and passion for the game,” Bergeman said.

He said the team has more than what it takes to have a memorable season.

“So far our practices have been high intensity, focused and the younger guys have really stepped up for our offense,” Bergeman said.

Green said the win over North helped the team gain charisma.

“Getting the dub against North at home really helped our confidence going into the rest of the season,” Green said. “It really proved to us what great things we can do this year.”

Aside from the actual outcome of the first two games, the boys said that the team has been working extremely hard this past month.

“After the Aquinas game, I was feeling off and went to the doctor to find out I had Mono,” Bergeman said. “Although I’m bummed to miss a few weeks of games, I’ve been watching younger guys step up and that’s a great thing to see as a senior.”

The boys said they are excited for what the rest of the fall season has in store and they’re excited to see what they can do this year.

Bergeman is excited to get back on the field and contribute to the team.

“As far as a state championship goes, consider us champions already.”
