Let’s Go Chiefs!
Kansas City supporting their football team, the Chiefs
Since our Friday Night Lights ended, the people at Blue Valley High School have turned their attention to Sunday Night Lights. Yep, I am talking about the Chiefs. Every weekend (sometimes Monday or Thursday) the Kansas City Metropolitan area tunes into the exciting NFL game.
Many students have viewing parties where they cheer on with friends and family. This year has been especially exciting because we have a 9-4 winning record — probably due to quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He started with the Chiefs straight out of college in 2017, and ever since, he has been shocking the country.
Another reason to be excited about the Chiefs this year is the fact that the last time they won the SuperBowl was in 1969. It’s been 50 years and should be our time to shine.
This same situation happened in 2015 when the Royals won the World Series for the first time in 30 years. Spirits are running high in KC, and in BVHS where students constantly show support of our favorite football team. Wearing red and white on the day of the games, we showcase our love for the team.
Tune in to the next Chiefs game Sunday, Dec. 22 at 7:20 on NBC.
