Recently, Donna Deeds, CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) Executive Director, accepted the Edison Award in New York City on behalf of CAPS.
CAPS won the Gold in the Category of Living, Working and Learning Environments-Higher Education Systems Segment.
The Edison Awards was established in 1987 to honor Thomas Edison for his many inventions and to inspire future inventions.
Junior Matt Aiello along with BVN seniors Robert Smith and Madeline Carl assisted in making a video about the CAPS program’s innovation in the learning field.
“At first we made a commercial promoting CAPS,” Aiello said.
After being approached by director Chad Ralston and Deeds, Aiello and Smith were encouraged to expand the video.
“They gave us a lot of freedom with the video,” Aiello said.
